How to make a t-shirt vintage?

I’m talking about super thin, barely alive t-shirts. The ones good for layering your clothes with.
I’ve seen sites say to soak it in salt and water or apple vinegar. Others say bleach it. One said to put it in the washing machine with rocks o.O
I’m wondering which works the best from experience. I really want to make a thing beat-up shirt, so any help is appreciated!
Thanks 🙂

i would definitely not put rocks in the washing machine!! lol. but i know my shirts got thin when they were washed alot and from being outside (sun fades shirt makes it look more vintage).
