Peak Tuxedo

For a tuxedo, between a notched lapel and peak lapel, is one considered more fashionable/popular today?

I’m getting married and looking to buy a tuxedo. I want to go 3 buttons, because I like the athletic cut look. Does this make a difference for whether I should go notched or peak? Also, as far as length goes, should the tuxedo go down just below my butt? Thanks.

A notched lapel is the standard right now, a shawl lapel is classic, and a peak lapel is retro, so it just depends on what kind of look you are going for. All of them are great choices, though. You also need to be aware of jacket length and how many buttons a jacket has, though, too. What’s the event? For prom LOTS of guys do the peak lapel, for weddings it’s mostly notch.

Knowing that, standard length is the right length for every man, I just try to warn short men to not get long jackets. For a wedding, any style can work, it just depends on your age and ig you aare doing something theme-y. I would shy away from a peak unless you are having a throwback wedding. Notch collars are my favorite.
