Should I use circular knitting needles to knit a hat?

Are those the correct type of needle? Or does it make it easier? Also, does anyone know of any easy knitting patterns for circular needles? Or is it pretty much the same as straight needles? Sorry for all the questions. Also, if a pattern says use four straight needles for a hat could I do it on one set of circular needles? Thanks

You can certainly use a single circular knitting needle to knit a hat. After you do your decreases you will thread your yarn through the remaining stitches and gather them tight to close.

I prefer knitting my hats with 2 circular needles, you can decrease to fewer stitches and never have to use double point needles. This method has gained popularity with sock knitters also.

1st link will show you how to knit with 2 circular needles.
2nd link is an easy hat pattern using 2 circular needles
